LIFE AND LITTLE LESSONS

I pray you have a few minutes to listen to the little lessons I have learned lately.

We have seen great and little wealth disappeared overnight and I thought such wealth is very important in our lives, and they truly are.

Lately with what I have seen in the calamity here in Manila I have realized that the most important thing in life is life itself.

To understand this life can be so fragile and the life giving water you drink can be its nemesis overnight suffocating ones breath in its wake.

To realize that the life of your loved ones can be taken away and you are helpless to do something about it is chastening.

I realized when great calamities come, very few come prepared and while you are at the end of the rope holding on with your last ounce of strength your loved ones are being taken by the cold hand of Death hiding in the rising water.

This is what happened here in a neighborhood town few kilometers away from our office in Pasig and Makati.

Since wealth, life and property can just disappear in a twinkling of an eye some of the words of the Master comes to my mind.

Foremost of this is that our treasures on earth has to be translated into treasures in heaven. That we should endeavor to search for things that transcends this life incarnation.

Human wealth is important and we should cherish our life and health to enjoy it. We should learn to protect our life and wealth well.

While alive, we should endeavor to realize things greater than the human physical life which is the realization of the soul and spirit.

Thus we have to translate human wealth and earthly treasures into heavenly wealth by helping other people in need, through human kindness and generosity.

We should practice spiritual techniques to increase our earthly life and develop our soul so that the spirit can manifest as enlightened soul on its physical incarnation.

THE MANILA EVENT

It is heartbreaking to see the devastation and heart wrenching to hear the survivors’ stories of this recent calamity in Manila. The real situation is worst than the news.

After the flood is just the beginning of a greater calamity and problems.

Hundreds of thousands need the basic necessities of life we take for granted to survive.

It is also disheartening to realize the national and local government sectors are incapable of handling such a crisis. All help is required from everyone.
