Every now and then, in classes across this plane we call our planet, a gentle reminder is given on what the word “Guru” really means. It illuminates the fact that the Guru is a “Dispeller of Darkness.” Or one who brings us to the path of light. As students, young and old, new and storied, this holds an immeasurable truth, especially on the silver anniversary of the school we now call home. Pranic Healing celebrates its 25th anniversary. And with it, we celebrate the 25 years of which Master Choa Kok Sui brought light into our world.

While Modern Pranic Healing, as we know it was officially born in late 1987, it’s the years of incalculable work prior to that which Master undertook upon himself, that we must not only acknowledge but celebrate today. A school that has now spread to over 80 countries had its origins drawn out between the years of 1983 to 1987, when Master formatted the schools of Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. Those dates are technical, again because Master spent his life breathing the teachings, beginning his own journey at the age of 12. Guru’s physical ages, clearly, are just a number. It’s another reminder about one of his favourite sayings: “You are a Soul with a body, not a body with a Soul.”

Had we not been lucky enough to have this incredible soul guiding us, then we’d have to spend whole lifetimes sifting through the esoteric material that MCKS compiled systematically together for us. 1987 is when he released “The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing”, which we know today as “Miracles Through Pranic Healing”. Scores of books followed through the years. All from the encyclopaedicmind of MCKS. Look at it this way. Without him, you’d be the one looking through libraries of encyclopaedias for something you’ll find, say, on the first page of the basic book. As Pranic Healing was born in the Philippines, it spread steadily across the continents, through students who were thirsting for a school that gave them everything they were searching for: a way to help humanity, a system that was practical but powerful, and more importantly, one which gave them the truth.

It’s also important to note that everything that we are expected to do as students, is something Master did continuously, himself. We’re required to study? MCKS immersed himself in everything from Chinese chi kung to Rosicrucian Teachings. We must purify? MCKS started when he was just a teenager and continued setting the example throughout his physical life. Your blue triangle is your best friend. We must do service? He again, made it easier for us, by starting off institutes, across the globe, which we could all be a part of, to serve. We must heal? Who else to aspire or look up to than Master, who was a Master Healer par excellence. The stories, often miraculous, are endless and pour in from grateful students across the poles.

A fraction of these are students who met MCKS while he was with us physically. Thousands flock to the Guru without ever having seen him. The truth is, it’s because it doesn’t matter. Not only does his legacy live on in the system and the teachings, it lives through the connection he has with every single one of his disciples. His reach is beyond anything corporeal. His mission is crystal clear, and it lives on in us, inspiring us with every passing moment. These hands can heal, these hands can help, and these hands hold the power and the love to change humanity. It’s a manifesto that transcends physical being. 25 years down the line, 80 countries and counting, the message keeps getting stronger and stronger. Does anything come close to living this legacy? Aren’t future generations looking to live lives that are extraordinary? The answer is yes, and there lies the golden ticket. The message will endure as long as there is a world to heal. You just have to walk into his light.
